In the very top left hand corner of your screen there is an apple symbol. Point to that, then select "About this Mac" from the drop down menu options. You will then see a pop up window that tells you how much ram is installed already. Click on the "More Info" option.

You will then see your Hardware Overview which will look something like this:

Just send us this info and we will tell you exactly which ram is right for your machine, and what is the maximum ram you can upgrade to.

What is the maximum ram I can upgrade to?

Upgrading your ram can give your Mac a big speed boost - so it is always worthwhile getting the maximum amount of ram that your machine can take (if you can afford to :-). Just send us this info about your Mac (as shown in the above question) and we will tell you exactly which ram is right for your machine, and what is the maximum ram you can upgrade to.

Will upgrading my ram/memory void my Apple Warranty?

No, it won't void your warranty. Apple considers ram to be a "user-installable upgrade". So, you can install ram without voiding your warranty. Refer to the Apple Support Article for more information on this.

How long will it take for my ram to arrive?

If you placed your order before 2pm AEST, then we usually ship on the same day (Monday to Friday). Otherwise, it will ship the following working day.

If you opted for Courier delivery, you can expect your ram to be delivered within the next two working days (usually it is delivered the following working day in metro areas). If it hasn't arrived within two days, please let us know and we will track it for you with our couriers.

If you have selected regular post, then allow up to 5 working days for delivery (though in metro areas it is usually delivered within 3 working days). If it has not arrived within 5 days, please contact us and we will send you your parcel tracking number. Enter this number into the tracking field on the Australia Post website and it will tell you the status of your package. In most cases where delivery has not occurred, the parcel is awaiting pick up at the local post office.

Can you deliver to a PO Box address?

If you choose the Registered Post option then we can deliver to a PO Box. if you choose the courier service, your ram order has to be signed for at the point of delivery. This means we cannot deliver to any address that does not have someone available to sign for it. This includes delivering to a home address where no-one is home.

How do I install the ram?

Unfortunately, there is no "one size fits all" answer to this question. Every Mac model has a different installation process. The good news is that the Apple Support website has detailed installation instructions for just about every Mac. So you will have step by step info to help you (usually it takes about 3-5 minutes to install ram - though some very old models (pre-G5) can take considerably longer).

We have compiled a list of the most common mac memory installation instructions. If you don't find the mac memory installation guide you are looking for, try searching on the Apple Support website for "How to install memory ".

What is your refund policy?

You are covered by our two pronged guarantee:
1. A lifetime warranty on the ram itself.
2. Compatibility with the Mac we recommended the ram for - so even if the ram is OK, but it doesn't work with the mac we stated it would work with, then we will replace it (though there may be a cost difference between different types of ram - and that will need to be paid if the ram is replaced with more expensive ram).

Send us an email letting us know what the problem is. If covered by our Guarantee, we will then send a Return Authorisation form. Send the ram back to the specified address within 7 days, and we will issue a replacement.

Who owns MacRam and do you have an ABN?

MacRam: Ram for Macs is owned by Mayhem Two Pty Ltd, and Adelaide-based company. Our ABN is: 32 083 044 786. We are 100% Australian owned and we buy our ram from Australian based suppliers.
