iMac (21.5-inch | 27-inch, Late 2012)

iMac (21.5-inch | 27-inch, Late 2012)

There's good news and there's bad news about Apple's 2012 iMac release.  The good news is it is only 5mm think and looks simply stunning.  We cannot wait to get our hands on one of these machines!  (We have ordered and are counting the days until it arrives in our office!).  The bad news is the 21.5" iMac is NOT user upgradeable.  Whaaaaaatttt?  We share your pain! The wise people of Cupertino have decided to withold the universal right of all desktop owners to upgrade their own damn ram in the 21.5" model.  How dare they!  Instead, if you want more than the standard 8GB that the 21.5" ship with, then you have no choice but to pay Apple's exorbitant upgrade prices.  How much? I hope you are sitting down!  To max it out at 16GB, you have to pay Apple an EXTRA $240!  The same kit is available in our store for $132.  Hmmm - maybe Apple needs the money?  Our two cents - put the extra $100 towards the 27" iMac - then you can upgrade it later to 32GB of ram and watch it take off!
