Powermac G5 1.8Ghz , Dual 2.0Ghz PC3200 DDR NECC
Do you have a Powermac G5 2.0ghz? If so, then deciding which ram is
right for your machine is a tricky business! There are 4 different
PMG5 2.0 models - all with different ram! So - to make sure you get
the correct ram for your PMG5, please follow these steps:
1. In
the very top left hand corner of your screen there is an apple symbol.
Point to that, then select "About this Mac" from the drop down menu
options.
2. You will then see a pop up window that advises your processor
and how much ram is installed already. Click on the "More Info"
option.
3. You will then see the Hardware Overview. Click
on "Memory" in the left hand side of that window. You will then be able
to see exactly what ram you have in which slot.
In particular....
a) What speed of ram do you have? (Is it PC3200 or 4200 or something else?)
b) Is your ram DDR or DDR2?
c) If your ram is DDR2, do you need ECC or non-ECC? (You may not be
able to tell this from the memory screen. In which case you may need to
open your case and see if there are any stickers on your ram that say
ECC or NECC). Apple tended to ship NECC ram in these model machines -
so unless you have already upgraded it is a pretty good bet that your
ram is NECC.
If you are having problems working out which ram is right for you -
send us an email with your ram info in it and we will match it for
you.
THIS RAM IS PC3200 DDR (400MHZ) Non-ECC.
