In the very top left hand corner of your screen there is an apple symbol. Point to that, then select "About this Mac" from the drop down menu options. You will then see a pop up window that advises your processor and how much ram is installed already. Click on the "More Info" option. You will then see the Hardware Overview that will look something like this:

Just send us this info and we will tell you exactly which ram is right for your machine, and what is the maximum ram you can upgrade to.
What is the maximum ram I can upgrade to?
Upgrading your ram can give your Mac a big speed boost - so it is always worthwhile getting the maximum amount of ram that your machine can take (if you can afford to :-). Just send us this info about your Mac (as shown in the above question) and we will tell you exactly which ram is right for your machine, and what is the maximum ram you can upgrade to.
How long will it take for my ram to arrive?
We usually ship on the same day as we receive the order - so you can expect the ram to arrive within the next two working days. If it hasn't arrived within three days, please let us know and we will track it for you.
How do I install the ram?
Unfortunately, there is no "one size fits all" answer to this question. Every Mac model has a different installation process. The good news is that the Apple Support website has detailed installation instructions for just about every Mac. So you will have step by step info to help you (usually it takes abt 3-5 minutes to install ram - though some very old models can take considerably longer).
To find this info for your mac, go to Apple Support and search for "How to install memory
Here are some common Macs and their installation instructions:

What do I do if it doesn't work in my machine?
You are covered by our two pronged guarantee:
A lifetime warranty on the ram itself. Compatibility with the mac it was purchased for - so even if the ram is OK, but it doesn't work the mac we have recommended it for, then we will replace it (though there may be a cost difference between different types of ram - and that will need to be paid if ram is replaced with more expensive ram).
Send us an email outlining the problem with the ram. If it is covered by our Guarantee, we will then send a Return Authorisation form. Send the ram back to the specified address within 7 days, and we will issue a replacement.
Where is the macram store physically located?
macram is a "virtual" store. This means that we don't have a physical shop front. We have chosen not to go down that path as it would mean that our expenses would increase significantly (rent, insurance, staff, stock, display units, etc) and we would only be catering to a small group of people who are located in the same vicinity as the store. So, as much as we would like it, you can't pick up your order from us or drop in for a coffee!
What make of RAM do you sell and is it guaranteed?
We sell Viking ram from an Australian wholesaler who has been accredited by both Apple Australia and Harvey Norman (for PCs). As you would expect, they know their mac memory inside out and they provide us with general and specific guarantees for our ram:
- All RAM has a lifetime guarantee against failure.
- The RAM supplied is guaranteed to work in the machine it was purchased for (provided you tell us which machine you are buying it for and we confirm that you are purchasing the correct RAM). If you have any doubts about compatibility, please email us and we will be happy to advise you.
- All RAM is guaranteed to be compatible with Apple firmware updates.
If you have any other questions that are not on this list, just ask!
